Once more, thanks to the kind collaboration of Microsoft Canada that our second quarterly meeting of the Montreal Chapter of GPUG could stand. We thank the members and non-members who took the time to attend in this meeting. A special Thank you to our local partner Negotium and JOVACO that were helping us spread the word ahead of time, and bring in some new members/customer. Today we felt really gifted as not less that 19 people attended the meeting.
The morning began with the usual introduction to the benefits of being registered as a full GPUG member and the annual events organized by the group (reIMAGINE & GPUG Summit, though the first one is reserved to partners & ISV only).
First session was about the ISV product SalesPad, for which we were fortunate enough to have a local consultant (Eric Labelle from SICA) to do the presentation in French to the audience. After a brief introduction by Kelli Zerbel (SalesPAd) on WebEx, Eric jumped into the meat and showed us an extended tour of the product.. I personally was thrilled by the presentation and the many facets of the product, and I think that may attendees were too, considering all the questions that rose during the demo.
A short coffee break followed to allowed members hit the bathroom and do a little networking and we went on with another presentation about "What's new in GP 2016 R2".. As some of the present members already had upgraded to the latest version of GP, it wasn't all new for everyone, but still some older GP version users learned a few interesting tricks.
The morning completed with an educational session presented by our VP-Membership (Luc St-Yves) about how to use Excel to extract data from your Dynamics GP system.. The presentation assumed that the user do not own Excel Report Builder from eOne, and thus start from scratch (or do not want to use the built-in Excel reports from GP). The learning material on this topic is available in the Chapter library for download, alongside with the PowerPoint presentations of the meeting.
As we reached 11:30 and called the morning soon an end, we briefly made a round table to remind the attendees to register for this fall's GPUG Summit and also fill out the survey so we could provide targeted content for the next Q3 chapter meeting.
Thanks again to Pierre Gilbert, our local Microsoft SAM & contact for the Dynamics GP program (though he also manages AX customers :-) ).
We're looking forward to our next chapter meeting that is scheduled for August 23rd, and wish everyone a nice summer.
