This class is designed to cover all the basics and Foundations of Field Service. In 4 short hours we will review the differences between the Field Service modules, the setup of the Field Service Modules and how the modules are used on a day to day basis. The last hour of the class will focus on obtaining Business Intelligence from Field Service through the use of Business Alerts and Excel Refreshable Reports.
I have two Goals for this class. My first goal is provide users with an understanding of what needs to be entered into the FS module and why it needs to be entered. My second Goal is to provide managers with some Business Intelligence options. By options I mean meaningful data that can help them react quickly to improve not only customer service but the success of their company.
Although this class is designed for the beginner, I find that many people who were not trained fully on the module or implemented several versions ago are not aware of all the FS features. If you fall into either of these categories, this class is for you!
- Review new features of GP2013 Field Service (for existing users)
- Understand the Differences between the Field Service modules
- Understand the Setup Options of Field Service
- Understanding the Differences between transactions and how they affect other modules / Departments
- Review Reports and SmartList
- Period End Procures
- Understanding what is available in Business Alerts for Field Service*
- Field Service Excel Refreshable Reports*
*These areas will likely require assistance for users to setup on their production environments, but I will be providing the attendees with information they can share with their IT department or GP Partner. It should also be noted that these areas are generic enough that they will apply to all GP modules.

The GPUG Academy offers the unique ability to learn from recognized experts while sitting at your own desk. Most classes leverage an instructor-led learning environment coupled with hands-on training. You can practice the content and apply the curriculum immediately, instead of just watching. Classes are conducted with a combination of a conference call/VOIP, and a remote desktop connection. If your instructor uses this environment, the detailed instructions for connecting and attending the class will be sent a day prior to class. Because of the advanced setup required, if you register the day of the class, you may experience a delay getting connected and starting the class. We will strive to get you connected to the class as quickly as we can.
Note: Preview Members are not eligible for the Premium Member discount.
To maintain an optimal training environment, each person attending the class is required to register separately. If more than one attendee per registration participates, their organization will be billed for the additional attendees. With registration, you agree to the terms related to Distance Learning classes as included here. Instructor and/or agenda
