Biography:
Mr. Smith has over 19 years experience in the technology arena and has held key executive information technology positions in public, private, and venture-stage companies. Since 2001, Mr. Smith has served as the Chief Information Officer of Intelident Solutions, parent company and provider of technology and business services to its global enterprises including Coast Dental Services which operates over 118 dental services in the southeastern US. Mr. Smith is part of the executive management ownership team that took Coast Dental Services (NASDAQ:CDEN) private and formed its parent company in July 2005.
Prior to Intelident, Mr. Smith was with Syndeo Corporation in Cupertino, California, a class 5 VOIP softswitch firm, and managed all aspects of the strategy and operation of the system engineering production environment, data center, and information technology infrastructure. He was a key manager as the firm grew from 6 to over 125 employees and secured $98M in venture capital.
Prior to Syndeo Mr. Smith held key software development management and information technology management positions with Vicorp, LifeServ, and Precision Systems (NASDAQ:PSYS), and was a consultant to IBM Global Services at a billion dollar retailer on a multi-thousand location technology refresh. In addition, Mr. Smith worked five internships at Honeywell Corporation in the Space Shuttle Flight Control, Software Engineering, and Space Station Flight Control Software groups. Mr. Smith also worked in the PCS R&D lab at Bellsouth Enterprises.
Along with the TBTF board, Mr. Smith is on the steering committee for the TBTF CIO Network and is a member of the National Executive CIO Council.
Mr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida.
